Dark Eden

Something strange has come over Diana, causing her to act out violently. And around the same time, the mysterious Dark Eden Gang emerges to cause havok. Are these two events connected?


Chapter 1 A Different Diana

Mina walked into Video Haven a few blocks from the Mato house to pick up some movies for movie night at the Mato house. She let out a silent gasp as she saw the shelves were barren. Though disappointed, she didn't give up on her search, and after looking through a dozen or so empty shelves, she saw a lone lonely video that looked like it had been boot legged long ago.  She then approached the check out area and the manager was surprised and happy to see her.

"Oh thank God. A normal dressed teenager for a change."

"What do you mean, sir?"

"Two weeks ago a bunch of kooky teens all wearing black hoodies and torn jeans rented 90% of the movies in here and didn't return them. But you won't do that, will you, missy?"

"Of course not."

"All right, that'll be 50 credits."

"What?!"

"How else do you think I was able to keep in business with 90% of my merchandise gone?"

"Oh," Mina said sadly blue faced as she handed over the money. Fortunately for her Katia offered to pay since she didn't want to leave the house.



Back at the Mato house, all the girls, minus Diana and plus Osaka the Kai of hypnosis, were gathered in the living room waiting for Mina. Osaka got up and entered the kitchen for some tacos. She opened the fridge and reached for her plate of specially prepared tacos when one of Mato's random hypno-discs popped out them, splattering her with taco stuff. She stood there in shock for a moment then looked at the hypno-disc and gave it a look of discontent.

Down in the lab Jake was helping Mato clean up. As Jake was drying some test tubes he accidentally kicked a cabinet open and came face to face with about a dozen toasters.

"These better not be what I think they are," Jake said, thinking back to his horrendous experience when he had been attacked by one of Mato's Flesh Eating toasters and had to go the hospital where Sarah and Jessica were hypnotized by the evil nurse Ayame.

"Oh of course not, my boy." Mato said in a reassuring tone. "Those are the Flesh Eating Toaster Mach 2. Twice as fast and flesh hungry."

"Why would you invent something like that!!?"

"Because I can."

At that moment Osaka came down the stairs whistling one of Fawns latest hits. Jake watched as she casually walked over and picked up a wooden chair by its legs and tapped it against the ground a few times and then walked over to Mato who was working at a computer and proceeded to smash the chair over the old scientist's head.

"I've told you a hundred times, old man, I can't be hypnotized. Consider this a warning should you ever destroy any perfectly good tacos again!" she shouted at Mato, who had collapsed to the floor with a big goose egg rising on his head with birds flying around it. She then looked at Jake. "Mina should be back with the movie soon; why not join us?"

Jake stood there in shock for a minute, then said, "What kind of warning is that? You could've caused serious brain damage....although a man who builds an improved version of a flesh eating toaster probably has some brain damage to begin with."

They made there way upstairs to see Mina had arrived.

"Did you get 'Great Moments in Evil'?" Dawn asked.

"No."

"Did you get that new romance I read about?" Katia said.

"No."

"Did you get the one where there's nothing but massive battles and explosions for 4 hours straight?" Jessica asked.

"No."

"Did you get 'Hypnotic Pirates vs. Hypnotic Ninja'?" Osaka asked.

"No."

"Well, what did you get?" Jake asked.

"I don't know."

Everyone fell down in a clump.

"It's not my fault it was the only one left."

"Well, no sense in letting a good movie night go to waste," Jake said pushing the video in the player as lightning flashed outside.

The screen was staticy for a bit then cleared up and appeared to be a home movie of some kind, inside a high tech vehicle of some sort. A man appeared on screen and began announcing.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Anton Hanzoo, in my research sub the Pequod; and we're here today to show you the splendiferious wonderfulness that the bottom of the ginormous sea offers."

"He just used three words that aren't real words....who gave that man a degree?" Osaka chimed in.

The doctor started his monologue again. "Here we see the beautiful garuda fish. See how it is bioluminescent to light the ancient sea floor...." The tape continued on for about an hour with Dr. Hanzoo showing the mysteries and wonders of the ocean floor. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, even Dawn, especially after he showed an old sunken ship loaded with treasure, but then things got weird. "Oh, my, what is that? It looks some old ruins, but...but we're thousands of miles from any land mass. I don't believe it. There are columns and... oh my, would you look at that? It's....it's and entire........". There was a strange rumbling noise and the tape went to static. Everyone sat there for a moment thinking about what just happened when a big flash of lightening happened outside and the power went off.

"Ah, crap. Jen, how 'bout some lights?" Jake requested, and soon some battery operated lanterns illuminated the living room. However, when the lights came on, there was one more occupant to the room then there was when the lights went out. Katia and Yuta screamed while the others stared in shock at the newcomer.

It was Diana. At least, they thought it was. This Diana had jet black hair and fur with about 5 piercings in each of her ears, and she was wearing a black hoodie and jeans riddled with holes and frayed patches. She also sported a weird necklace with a rose wrapped around a trident.

"What the hell happened to you? Did your pen explode?" Osaka asked.

Dawn approached Diana and pointed at the necklace. "Boy, leave it to you cat girls to pick the stupidest symbols to wear," she said.

Then all Hell broke loose as Diana produced a knife. "Don't you ever...ever insult the symbol of the Dark Eden Gang again!!! Or I'll slice you open. In fact, if you get near me and or try to touch me and especially if you try to hypnotize me again, I'll turn you into sliced succubus!! Now I'm leaving this menagerie of morons before the stupidity starts to affect me." She then stormed out of the house.

Everyone stood there in shock for a bit, then stared at the three most likely suspects.

"Yuta?!"

"I would never do that. She wasn't playing any games and had too many clothes on for it to be me," Yuta said.

"Osaka?!"

"Hey!! When I hypnotize someone it usually involves quirky humor and fun for the whole family. That was not family friendly."

"Except when you make them hunt me down like an animal, " Jake said under his breath.

"Dawn!?"

"Why would I hypnotize her to want to hurt me?"

"Just to throw me off your trail since you probably have something more evil planned for her," Sarah said.

"Wow. Paranoid much," Dawn said.

"Maybe she wasn't hypnotized. Did that ever cross your minds? Maybe she's mad at us," Mina chimed in.

"Ya, she did miss out on that impromptu ski trip we made to Frost Mountain," Jake said.

"Ya, what a great time that was, skiing, hot chocolate, and I played games with the snow bunnies," Yuta said.

"And let's not forget that wonderful adventure full of mystery, magic, and goblins," Osaka added.

"Maybe we should go back and cheer up Diana," Lucia said.

"Ya!!" everyone else shouted.



Chapter II Frost Mountain


The next day after last night's craziness, Jake was happy to return to school. He stepped into the literature class he had with Diana and thought he saw her there. He was dismayed to see she still looked like she did last night. In addition, three other girls were wearing identical outfits and all had multiple ear piercings and jet black hair. Though the new girl, Washina, was set apart from the group, as she still had her teal hair and wore weight lifters gloves that were missing their fingers.

Jake took his seat next to Washina and stared at Diana. She had an evil smirk on her face that he didn't like. He was about to get up and ask her about the ski trip when their teacher, Ms. Andrus, a bunny girl, entered the room and said, "Alright class, today is the day you guys read your poems to the rest of the class. Any volunteers?"

Diana's hand shot up.

"Oh, Diana, it's nice to see you taking some initiative," Ms. Andrus said.

Diana cleared her throat.

"Ms. Andrus' ugly face makes me Urk,
I said with a smirk.
I don't see why,
She doesn't try,
To mate with a fly.
Their children will prove less homely,
Then Ms. Andrus is currently."

The whole room stared in shock except for the girls in black hoodies, who applauded.

"Thank you. Thank you. Hail Dark Eden!" Diana said.

"DIANA!!! Principle's office! Now!!" Ms. Andrus said pointing a finger at the door.

Jake looked around at the girls in black hoodies who had applauded her and thought, 'If this is the crowd she chooses when we make her mad, I want to make her happy again ASAP.'


Later after school, Jake and the girls walked over to Diana's house. Diana's mother, Kitty, opened the door.

"Hello. Are you here to see Diana?"

"Yup," Jake said. "We're taking her skiing to hopefully get her out of this evil funk she's fallen into."

"I'm sorry, but she's been grounded for insulting her teacher, and using awful, awful language."

"What kind of awful, awful language?" Jake asked.

She whispered something into Jake's ear and his eyes suddenly went wide with the sound of shattering glass heard in the background.

"Wow.....wow....wow. Er..um... so how 'bout letting her off and letting her come along?"

"I'm sorry. The answer is no. Hey, is that Siren with you? Diana and I are big fans."

"Yeah. It's me," Fawn said. "Would you like to hear my new song, "Convince"?"

"I'd love to," Kitty said.

Three hours later, they were nearing Frost Mountain in the MatoVan.  Sarah couldn't come due to work, and Dawn couldn't come due to causing Sarah to work harder. Jen wanted to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet, and Yuta had also stayed home to help Mato in the lab. The guest of honor, Diana, was along for the ride, sitting between Mina and Fawn. Jake was driving and talking to Osaka about the Flesh Eating toaster incident from before, and he was angry at Mato for rebuilding them.

"Isn't there a Kai of toasters you could send down to punish him?"

"Jake, there is no Kai of toasters.... there is one of microwaves though, but we Kais kinda keep our distance from him," Osaka said.

"Why?"

"You don't wanna know."

After driving in silence for a while, Jake decided to hopefully lighten up the tense atmosphere that surrounded Diana.

"Hey, Diana. How many black hoodies do you own?"

"Bite me."

"I think that would be most unpleasant and taste terrible," Lucia said.

That was the last anyone tried to talk to Diana for the rest of the trip. After they arrived, everyone got out. They were all dressed in their winter attire. Jake in sweat pants and a heavy down coat, Katia in a form fitting super expensive ski suit and Osaka in a green hoodie and a Santa hat. Lucia wore a light jacket with flannel pajama bottoms, Jessica wore military issue winter gear, and Diana had her now infamous black hoodie and frayed and torn jeans.

Jake got out snowboards that belonged to him and Osaka as well as Katia's skis.

"Once you and I are married, I'll have to get you off that primordial sport that is ruining the snow slopes," Katia said, not noticing Jake mount his board and take off.  She sweat dropped and then went off herself, leaving the other girls who didn't like to ski or snow board but enjoyed the snow scene back at the lodge.

"There's just something about the snow makes me wanna make snow angels," Jessica said, flopping down and making a perfect one. "Why don't you try, Lucia?"

Lucia got down and mimicked Jessica, but due to her existing wings her snow angel looked like a weird abstract design in the snow.

"Hmmm, maybe you'd be better off just lying in the snow not moving," Jessica suggested.

"Okay," Lucia, said flopping down in the snow again.  Jessica sweat dropped.



On the slopes, Katia was having a wonderful time until she nearly collided with a snow boarder.

"Hey, watch where you're going with that ridiculous thing!" Katia shouted.

"I had the right of way, princess," the young snow boarder with blond hair, a pink hoodie and khaki pants said sarcastically.

"Well, at least you aren't brain dead like the rest of those snowboarders and know I'm a princess. And once I'm queen I'll be able to ban this sport and keep you uncoordinated, clumsy fools from giving the majestic ski slopes a bad name."

"I have a better idea," the mystery snow board girl said pulling out a pocket watch. "Why don't you just calm down and watch the watch. Watch it swing from side to side. Back and forth. Back and forth. Beginning to relax. Relaxing. Relax for me. Just concentrate on the beautiful watch. It is a beautiful watch. So beautiful that nothing else matters but me, my voice, and of course, the beautiful watch. Let everything fade away as you continue to focus on the watch. Let all your stresses and worries melt away as you relax even more for me. Relax. So relaxed you are beginning to feel sleepy. So sleepy that your eyelids are beginning to grow heavy. So heavy that by the time I count backwards from 5 to zero you will no longer be able to hold them open. 5... Still focusing on the watch like a good subject. 4... Eyelids so heavy like lead weights. 3.. So sleepy it's like you haven't slept in a week. 2... Giving up on any resistance and letting yourself give in to the hypnosis. 1... So sleepy, eyelids so heavy, wanting nothing more then to fall asleep for me. Zero... now sleep for me."

Katia's head slumped down as she fell into a hypnotic trance.

"Word to the wise, princess; don't insult someone whose mother was a stage hypnotist and whose father was a psychologist. Now it's my turn to be a princess. Grab my board and follow me back to the lodge. I need to warm up."

"Yes, mistress," Katia said, grabbing the girl's snowboard.



Over by the lodge near the beginning of the slope, Mina was casting a spell that caused a stick figure to be instantly drawn in the snow.

"Very impressive," Fawn said.

"Ya, but I was supposed to turn it into a pumpkin. I got my snow transfiguration test coming soon."

"Hey, Mina!" Diana shouted. Mina turned to see Diana just as she threw a snowball with a rock packed into it, and hit Mina in the face with it. The force of the impact was able to knock Mina off her feet and down the slope where she tumbled like a rag doll, eventually running into a snow boarding Osaka, and the two started tumbling together. All the while Fawn was screaming and Diana disappeared.

The two eventually came to a stop on a flat area of the slope. Osaka pulled herself up and looked at her snowboard, which was snapped in half.

"You know, this has happened before. I hypnotized the person who ran into me to be as stiff as a board, and I used them as a new snow board." She then looked over and saw Mina was trembling in pain as well as fear at what Osaka had said. "Oh crap..". Osaka then made her pocket watch appear and hypnotized Mina, focusing on making Mina think her body was numb so she wouldn't feel any pain. Then she picked up the sleeping magic girl who was developing a nasty black eye and began carrying her towards the lodge.

As she got inside she saw Jessica slap Jake who was about to hypnotize some real ski bunnies.

"Good God! Is that what happened to her after that snowball knocked her down the hill?" Fawn asked in shock.

"I'm afraid so. I don't think anything's broken, but she was in a lot of pain so I hypnotized her," Osaka said laying her on the couch.

"I can check her out. Mato gave me these sunglasses that can see through clothing and skin," Jake said pulling them out and looking at the three women who grew large over him and stared at him with flames erupting in the background. Jake's eyes grew big and he sweat dropped, "....or you could check her out Jessica."

Jessica scanned Mina. "Nothing broken. Thank God. Diana's really crossed the line this time. I don't think this is just rebellion against us for forgetting about her one time. I don't know if she's been hypnotized, has a brain chemistry imbalance or whatever; we have to try and get the old Diana back."

Fawn, Osaka, and Jake agreed. Up on the balcony that was created by the second floor overhanging the first floor of the lodge the hypnotic snowboarder appeared and said, "I have a friend here who has an announcement."

Katia then approached the balcony. "Zee is the greatest snowboarder in the history of the world. They should give her a medal for just being her. She's so great that I wanna be her maid, cook, and servant for life. Also, elves suck."

Jake and the girls fell down.

"Why didn't she just put a sign on Katia that said 'I'm hypnotized'?" Jake said.

"I'll handle this the diplomatic way...and if that doesn't work, the violent way," Jessica said. She made her way upstairs and found Zee sitting on a couch with Katia serving her some hot chocolate.

"Can I help you?"

"Ya, um, this may sound strange to other people, but I believe you have hypnotized our friend there. Could you maybe snap her out of it?"

"No. I like her like this."

"Okay, if you won't listen reason maybe you'll listen to my feet and fists."

"Hey, I know that arctic wear. It's a Matocorp ZZZ Arctic combat super warm wear. You're a soldier...and I don't think it would be a good idea to beat up Major-Colonel John Miktrip's granddaughter."

"You have valid point, but what if you don't remember this little meeting?" Jessica said pulling out the pocket watch she had kept since the hypno-hospital incident and began to swing it before Zee's eyes. Zee followed suit and pulled out her pocket watch and began to swing it before Jessica's eyes.

They began their inductions in unison, "Watch the watch. You are getting very relaxed. You are very sleepy. Very sleepy. You want to sleep. You want to give into hypnosis." While both were beginning to succumb, Jessica was fading faster....until a loud crash down below snapped them out of it..Katia too.

"What? Where am I? What happened?" she asked confused.

"Damn. I should never have made breaking glass a trigger to snap her out it," Zee said. The three of them looked down at the first floor.

"What the hell?" the three said in unison as they looked at the terrified onlookers, among whom were Jake, Fawn, and Osaka, who were all looking at Diana, who had crashed a snowmobile through the big front window of the lodge. With an evil laugh she kicked it back in gear and turned around and left the way she had came in.

An hour later Jessica loaded the still sleeping Mina into the Mato Van as Jake loaded the rest of the stuff.

"Shouldn't we go and try to get Diana back?" Jessica asked.

"After the crap she's pulled do you even want her back?" Katia asked.

"Ouch, that's cold," Jake said. "But she has a snow mobile and an endless wilderness. The ski patrol and the ski cops are looking for her anyway. They'd have a better chance of finding her then us. We'll tell Sarah to keep an eye on the police reports about a Neko that crashed into a ski lodge getting arrested."





After a car drive home in silence they arrived at the Mato Mansion. Yuta had already asked if Mina could spend the night after the ski trip, so they had a good extra day to explain what happened. Osaka placed Mina into a sitting position on the couch with her legs on the coffee table. With her winter gear off they could see the damage caused by the tumble down the mountain in the numerous bruises on her legs.

"Alright Mina, when I snap my fingers you will wake up. You will still feel no pain and your muscles will be limp and relaxed as if you were in the beginning stages of being hypnotized. This'll help speed up your recovery," Osaka said.

"Wow. Since when do you care about people?" Jake said.

"Hey, look what happened to her. A nice girl like this didn't deserve what happened to her, especially from a friend. And one time she summoned me a taco through magic...of course, she was trying to make a rose grow... but that's not the point," Osaka said snapping her fingers. She then left for some tacos at the Taco Hut downtown.

"Welcome back, magic girl," Fawn said.

"What? How did I get here?" the surprised Mina asked.

Even after explaining the situation, Mina still had a hard time believing it to be true. Until the sounds of a snowmobile sounded outside.

"It couldn't be," Katia said. "Especially with all that road and unsnowed over country side."

Through the door they heard a familiar voice say 'boobies' and the dark haired Diana came into the door.

"You've got a lot of nerve showing your face here after what you did," Fawn said.

"Ya, what is your problem, Diana? We thought you were mad at us or something. But that's not the case apparently," Jake said.

"Hmmm... what's my problem....what's my problem...oh ya, my problem is that I hang out with a bunch of losers like you guys. I'm out of here. The Dark Eden Gang is much better. Doing crimes and causing rampant destruction is a lot more fun then being hypnotized by Jake or the robot girl," she said coldly.

"Diana stop," Jake said. "When you talk like that about this 'Dark Eden Gang', it sounds like its activities could get you hurt, arrested, maybe even killed. I'm not gonna allow that. I want the old Diana back. The fun loving cat girl that never tried to seriously injure Mina.  I know it's not ethical, but if it's gonna bring back our good friend and bring peace back to our lives and keep you out of jail or a coffin, I'm gonna hypnotize you back to your old self," Jake said reaching for his pendant. He didn't get far enough to pull it out before Diana roundhouse kicked him into the wall. Katia screamed.

Fawn decided to follow Jake's lead and began singing a few lyrics to a hypnotic melody before a lamp was flung at her head and crashed into the wall behind her stopping the singing.

"Your singing sucks," Diana said as she turned and walked out the door.

"Diana! Wait!!" Mina said trying to go after her friend, but her hypnotically relaxed muscles wouldn't allow her to get up quickly.

Minutes later Osaka came back with some tacos. "So, did I miss anything exciting while I was gone?" The others shot her an evil glance. "What'd I say?"



Chapter III When Appliances Attack 2: Electric Boogaloo



That night, a mysterious figure walked up to the Mato home and uttered the password 'boobies' to gain access to the house. The figure then made their way to the lab and began loading about two dozen of a device into a sack. They were done in less then ten minutes and left with no trace of their visit, only that they shut off Homeshield to enter the house which had been entered in Homeshield's arm and disarm log.

Two days after Diana left, the problems in Yoto began. The Dark Eden Gang had begun to grow in numbers and began to cause a mini crime wave across Yoto. The police force was beginning to be stretched thin and Sarah began to arrive home later and later every night. Diana never returned to school and Jake was getting a phone call from her crying mother every night to see if he or the girls knew where she was. Mina was growing sadder by the day.

Three days after the Diana incident, a big crate arrived for Katia. It was full of books.

"Uh, Katia, if you're gonna try and convince Jake to marry you, might I suggest a crate of video games and not books?" Osaka said.

"Oh, these aren't for Jake, silly. They're books from our royal library to loan to the Yoto Central Library as a good will gesture," Katia said.

Osaka then announced that they should go clubbing since it was Friday the 18th, a national holiday to go clubbing in the upper realm. "I've heard good things about this club called Spirals," Osaka said.

"You've heard wrong," the girls said.

"Wait, you consider rampant hypnosis a good thing, don't you?" Fawn said.

"Okay, if I promise to de-hypnotize you should you fall under since I'm pretty much immune, will you guys go?" Osaka asked.

"Sure," they responded.

A couple hours later Jessica, Jake, Osaka, Mina, Katia, Yuta, and Fawn were climbing to the second floor of spirals towards some empty tables. Though toned down since the last time they were there the hypnosis was still a common element. Several entranced as well as untranced people danced on the dance floor while some techno trance music played. As they sat down they noticed a waitress hypnotizing a patron with a hypno-disc that was in-laid into her drink serving tray. She then had the man act like a chicken, much to his date's delight.

"I should so sue this place," Osaka said. "Back when they were building a new club in the Kai world, I had the suggestion for a hypnosis themed club; but Chad's idea ultimately won."

"How did that frog thing come up with a club idea?" Jake asked.

"If he wraps that tongue around a pen, he can draw a mean blue print," Osaka said.

"That's kinda scary," Jake said.

A waitress approach their table, held up a diamond pendant, and said, "Would you be interested in becoming Diamond Club members?" she asked.

"Uh, no thanks. We're already Emerald club members," Jessica said.

"Wow, you're lucky. Sasha's a great 'tist," the waitress said. She then moved onto the next table.

"Dodged the bullet there," Fawn said.

The crazy club atmosphere of the club dried up instantly when the lights went out. The unhypnotized patrons complained about what happened. A few minutes later the lights came back on.  Diana now stood on the stage at the front of the dance floor with several Dark Eden members standing behind her. She held a large sack.

"Attention patrons of Spirals. It seems you all have been having your fun tonight. Now it's time for us to have our fun," Diana said. She then turned the bag upside down and about two dozen toasters poured out onto the dance floor of Spirals.  After a few seconds they began to vibrate ominously and soon started to jump around before finally attacking the surprised patrons. As the chaos unfolded, Diana and the Dark Eden's just stood there and laughed.

"Good God! She's unleashed those monsters Mato created on the crowd!" Jake shouted.

Diana and the Dark Eden's soon left through the side door after the bartender started attacking the toasters with a bat. Mina got up from the table and began to walk downstairs.

"Where are you going?" Jake said.

"Diana's my friend. And even if there's only a small part of her left in that evil shell, I'm gonna save it. I couldn't go after her last time, but I'm going after her this time," Mina said with tears in her eyes as she ran off.

"Mina, wait!!" Jake said. He soon ran after her out into the city streets. "Mina!" he shouted.

"Diana!" he heard Mina call in the distance faintly.

"Mina!"

"Diana!" Even more faint.

"Mina!" He shouted once more, but after being only greeted with silence he merely muttered, "Man, she's fast."

The other girls had now joined him by his side. They soon began walking around the city looking for the lost magic girl.

Five hours later the sky was purple and night was ending. The door of the Mato house swung open and the weary searchers entered the house. Jake walked down to the lab, Katia and Yuta flopped down on the couch, Jessica punched the wall in anger, and Osaka went to get a taco out of the fridge. A short while later Jake came out of the lab and cued up some video footage from the labs security tapes showing Diana stealing the toasters.

"I checked Homeshield's log and this occurred the night after the ski trip. It would seem we need to talk to Mato about changing the security code. I called Sarah about Mina and she said that she'd look for her while on patrol.  Now the sun's gonna be up in 3 hours so I suggest we all get some sleep."



The next morning Katia woke up and found that she had fallen asleep on the couch. Jake was at the kitchen table. His hair was a mess and he looked really stressed out. He was talking on the phone with Mina's mother.

"Yes, I know Mina went clubbing with us. Yes, I know she didn't come back. Yes, I know I should've called you. Yes, I know I'm just another irresponsible teen. Yes, I know there's an explosion of gang violence. Yes, I will call if I see Mina. Yes, I can start a sentence with something other then yes." He hung up the phone. "My, that was a lovely conversation."

"You look like you didn't sleep after you told us to get some, my love," Katia said.

"Ya, I know. But as I got into bed I remembered I had seen that weird rose around a trident symbol before this whole Dark Eden thing started and I tried to place my finger on it, but I couldn't."

"You know, I remember seeing it in the past too somewhere," Osaka said.

"Aaaa crap. You're like several thousand years old.  You having seen it just adds more questions then answers," Jake said dismayed.



Two days later there was no sign of Mina. Diana was a lost cause. The Dark Eden Gang was multiplying everyday. Though their crime sprees were mostly small crimes they still kept the police busy, especially since no hideout of the gang could be found. Katia though had more pressing matters, like donating the crate of royal books to the Yoto Central Library.

"Hello, I'm Yoko Sno and this is Channel 7 News with some actual good news for a change," the hot fox girl said as she pointed at Katia presenting the books to the Head Librarian. Also present were two police women, a Red Dragon girl and an eerie looking bee girl. Katia was about to crack open the crate when a fireball hit the cameraman's camera and it exploded.

Everyone looked in shock at the six Dark Eden members that stood before them. This group was unique in that it contained guys rather then just girls like the gang had in the past. Though the guys lacked the ear piercings and jet black hair they still retained the trademark hoodie and jeans. The lead member of the gang was a young girl who had launched the fireball attack and still had one floating in her hand. She soon launched it at the boom mike and caused it to explode as well. Ms. Sno and her cameraman then fled the scene along with the Head Librarian. The two policewomen charged at the group.

"Ragnoroke Blast," the young Dark Eden girl said emotionlessly. Electricity crackled in her hands and she slammed them on the ground, sending electricity at the two police women, shocking them into unconsciousness.  The lone girl approached the crate of books. Katia stepped out in front of it to defend it, but then she got a good look at the lead Dark Eden girl's face and noticed the fading black eye the girl sported.

"Mina?"

"Hello, princess," Mina said coldly. "I'm in a good mood today so I'm gonna give you the option of moving out of the way if you don't want any harm to come to you."
"These are precious royal tomes. I will defend them."

"Suite yourself. Body congelo!!" Mina shouted as a blue line shot from her finger and she traced it around Katia's body rendering her immobile.

"Mina, please stop this!" Katia urged as Mina pried the lid off the book crate. "Hey, be careful, some of those are hundreds of years old," Katia said as Mina started tossing books haphazardly out of the crate. "That belonged to my grandmother. That was a gift from the dragon king ages ago."

Katia's ranting concern for the books soon got on Mina's nerves. "Silencio!" she incanted and a whiff of violet smoke appeared before Katia and entered her mouth and nose. Katia coughed loudly and then coughed several times more but no sound came out. She tried to talk but no words came out. She finally realized what had happened and opened her mouth in a silent scream. Mina continued to riffle through the books and then looked over at the other Dark Eden members who were just standing there. "Hey, cheer squad, wanna help me out here, or do I need to report your laziness to the leader?" Mina's comments made them jump into action. They soon found the book they were looking for, Forbidden Spells of Elfland Version 12.5.

As they started to leave Mina stopped and turned around to face the frozen Katia again and raised her hand and incanted, "Vomica." Katia's face soon broke out in a number of pimples. She let loose another silent scream as Mina left laughing.




Chapter IV The Invitation



Jake looked at the computer print out that Sarah had shown him and began slamming his fist down on the counter and swearing profusely.

"I'm sorry, Jake, but that's the way it is," Sarah said.

Jake looked at the paper again. It showed pictures of Mina and Diana as dangerous, wanted criminals; Mina for grand theft of royal property and Diana for being the leader of the Dark Eden groups that robbed the 5th-10th National Banks in Yoto.

"Hey, I should be mad too," Dawn said, coming down the stairs. "That little gang is ruining my reputation as one of the biggest criminals this city has to offer. And since the 'officer' is so busy with them I can no longer play my game of cat and mouse with her." She then stormed back upstairs.

"I'm going crazy over this whole matter. I'm so stressed out that deep down inside I want to slam my face into that door," Jake said staring at the lab door...which flew open with great speed and smacked him in the face.

"Eureka, I've done it!" Mato exclaimed. "I am indeed a genius."

"What did you do this time, grandpa?" Yuta asked happily.

"I figured out how to get my VCR to stop flashing 12:00 over and over again. It now flashes 12:01 over and over again."

Everyone fell down with a crash. As they got up another crash followed as a brick was tossed through the window.

"What the Hell is going on here?" Jake shouted.

Osaka went over and picked up the brick and saw a piece of paper tied to it. She took off the paper and threw the brick back out of the house through a previously unbroken window.

"Why, thank you, Osaka. I do believe this house did indeed need some more air flow into it," Jake said. Osaka handed him the piece of paper. It was black, but a rose wrapped around a trident was drawn on it in glitter pen, along with a name...Yuta.

"Hmmm, it appears they prefer the direct approach over mailboxes," Lucia said.

Jake opened the folded piece of paper. "Hey, that's mine!" Yuta yelled.

"You don't have a say in the matter when it comes to something that could be dangerous," he snapped. He began reading the paper aloud.  Jessica, Sarah, Fawn, Osaka, Lucia and Yuta began reading it over his shoulder. "Yuta. Due to your unique abilities you have been selected to become a Dark Edener.  If you accept this invitation, come down to the old warehouse on Cherry Blossom St. at 8pm. Come alone, or we will not come out of the shadows to meet you. Signed. The evil creepy rose trident thing that haunts me even more now that I think I saw it somewhere in the past.AAAAAAAAAA!!" He looked at the assembled girls who were staring at him in confusion, "Did I just say that last part out loud? Sorry."

"I wanna go.  You can use me as bait and we can save Diana and Mina," Yuta offered.

"Sorry, Yuta, that goes against all law enforcement protocols," Sarah said.

Yuta started to look sad, then she smiled. "No, you want me to help," she said, her eyes turning into spirals. Jake ducked out of the way, but the girls were instantly enthralled. "Let me help. Please."

"Of course you can help, Mistress Yuta," the entranced girls said in unison.
"Well, I guess I'm helping Jake," Yuta said.

"Ya, I guess you are. It's 4 against 2," Jake said.

"Who the hell ever said I was voting against this?" Osaka added.

"We have four hours till the meeting. Let's play some games. Won't you guys strip down to your underwear?" Yuta said with her usual perky disposition.

"Of course, Mistress Yuta," Fawn, Jessica, and Sarah said.

"Do I get play too?" Jake said, finally giving in to the fact that the Yuta bait plan was just going to have to happen. Looking at the undressing girls, he saw the rose drawing on the letter out of the corner of his eye and he had an epiphany. "Eureka!" he shouted.

"Did you get the VCR to stop flashing 12:00 too, my boy?!" Mato said from down in the lab.

"No. But In the past I have been able to actually set a VCR to show the correct time."

He could hear crying from the lab. "It's every man's dream to see his grandson surpass him."

Jake then said to Yuta, "Okay, Yuta, I have something important to tell them. Snap them out of their trances....." He looked at the three sexy girls in their underwear. "....In a few minutes."

A few minutes later the girls were shaking off their trances and Jake was wiping off the drool.

"Okay, operation Yuta Mole is a go," Jessica said.

"Wouldn't Yuta Man be a better operation name?" Osaka said eating a taco.
Everyone groaned and fell down.

"I have an announcement," Jake said. "I have discovered who our true enemy is. The leader of Dark Eden."

"We all know that their leader is the true enemy," Sarah said.

"But do you know who she is?" Jake asked.

"No we don't...wait, how do you know it's even a she?"

"By looking at this drawing. As you know, it's been bugging me where I saw this design before. And now I know why. What's different about this then the little necklaces they wear?" he said, pointing at the drawing.

"It's colored," Fawn said observing the red, green, and gold glitter ink used to draw the symbol.

"Correct. And that's how I saw it first. In living color. You see, three days before movie night a new girl came to school. She looked normal, and wore normal cloths except for some fingerless weight lifters gloves. Anyway, as our lit class was letting out that day, one of the gloves got snagged on a screw on her desk, pulling it off momentarily, and there, tattooed on the top of her hand, was a rose wrapped around a trident. Then the day after movie night she started wearing stuff like what the Dark Eden's wear. That night I remember Mina saying something about Diana and a group of students going to help show a new girl around town. So, ladies, the name of evil is Washina."

"Okay. But do you know where this Washina is?" Osaka said.

" You just had to steal my thunder," Jake said. "Well, maybe we could track Yuta to their hideout. Professor, do you have Yuta "chipped" like you do Katia to track her?"
"Oh, heavens, no, my boy. That would interfere with her systems."

"Okay, plan B.  We'll use a tracking device from the police department," Sarah said.



At 7:50 Jake, Yuta, Jessica, Fawn, Sarah, and Osaka  were a few blocks away from the warehouse. Jessica was re-tying Yuta's ribbon, concealing a tracking device in the ribbon's knot.

"Okay, Yuta, we'll track you, and when you reach your destination I'll radio for a huge police squad to come to take down this Washina. And try to get as much info as possible, but don't use hypnosis as to avoid suspicion," Sarah said.

"Telling her to not use hypnosis is like telling Mato to stop building things that are gonna blow up half the city. It's not going to happen," Fawn quipped.
As Yuta made her way to the warehouse, Jake and the girls didn't notice a girl in a black hoodie watching them from the rooftops. Once inside, Yuta looked around the dark warehouse.

"Hello?"

From behind she was suddenly blindfolded and her hands chained behind her back.

"Hey!" she shouted.

Mina stepped out of the shadows and cast her silencing spell on Yuta. "There we go both, problem areas from her are no longer a problem." A cell phone rang and Mina pulled it out. "Yo. Uh huh. Uh huh. 5 of them. In the ribbon. Gotcha." She snatched off Yuta's ribbon and pulled out the tracker and handed it to a fellow Dark Eden girl, who had short hair and wore glasses. She also carried a smart phone. "Hey, Lucca, can you hack into this thing and send them on a wild goose chase?"

Lucca messed around for a few seconds on the smartphone. "Already done."

"Perfect."




Back at the stakeout location, Sarah said, "She's on the move. This way." The four others began to follow Sarah as she tracked Yuta's movements...right into a restaurant. "Police business," she said to the startled patrons and kitchen staff as they made their way through the restaurant and out the back. Sarah then pointed to a storm drain. "She's down there, let's go."

A half hour later they were still crawling through the sewers. "Oh god, it's like someone's vomit vomited down here," Jake said. They eventually reached a spill way that led to the river.  Then "Yuta's" speed increased and they ran off at top speed through many locations including the butcher's, the baker's, and the candle stick maker's.  They even ran right through the heart of one of Slaves Inc' mansions, but they ran through so fast they didn't even notice they had run by Vice, Ayame, Serena, and Val, who were playing Scrabble. Evil Strip Scrabble. That the girls were apparently losing.

"What the hell was that?" Vice asked.

"It looked like an army girl I once hypnotized, a cyborg cop I had her hypnotize, a pop star, a carbon copy of you, and a mystery girl," Ayame said.

"How the hell did they get past security? And what were they doing here?"

"That I don't know," Ayame said.

After a few hours, the device showed Yuta had stopped. After running on auto pilot they slowed down to look around at where they were.

"Uh, guys. We're right where we started," Fawn observed.

"Damnit!!" the others shouted.




While Jake and the others were on their wild goose chase, Mina had loaded Yuta into one of the many cars the Dark Eden's had stolen and drove her to the outskirts of town to some unknown ruins. She then led her to the large temple like structure that was at the center and unblindfolded her. Yuta saw she was in a room with over 200 Dark Eden's, with Washina, who had her teal hair tied back in a pony tail, standing before her. Shocked, the still silenced Yuta immediately went into spiral-eyed mode while facing her enemy.

"Oooo, silver spirals. I've never seen ones like that before. Very pretty, but unfortunately, not very hypnotic," she said, shocking Yuta. "Now let the initiation begin," she said, pulling out a pocket watch made of a weird dark blue metal. "Watch the watch. Watch it and relax. Follow its path back and forth. Notice the blueness of the watch. Blue is such a relaxing color. It's so easy to look at, it's deep and calming like the ocean. So relaxed now. Feeling so sleepy. So ready to go into deep hypnosis. So ready to give into my power. Eyes heavy. Will power fading. Becoming my slave. Now sleep for me."

Yuta's head slumped down as she fell under the evil girl's spell. "Now then, Yuta, you will obey me without resistance. And you will indeed help me recruit members for Dark Eden. Diana and Mina have spoken well of your abilities and how they would help me.'' Yuta shook her head yes. "Excellent. Now, awaken, and become a Dark Eden." Yuta woke up and looked around and developed the same cold evil grin that Mina and Diana had, but disturbingly, her eyes were now blue instead of silver. "Hmm, that's never happened before....but it's still very cool," Washina stated. Diana and Mina then led their newest sister off to get the traditional hair dye job and wardrobe change.




Chapter V Reminisce



A few days later, Yoto City was in chaos.  Nearly 500 teens had gone missing and Dark Eden was still committing small crimes, but that was about to change.

Jake, still saddened by the loss of Yuta, was going to drown his sorrows....in video games. As he was heading out, Jessica stopped him.

"Hey, where are you going? There's a curfew in a couple of hours," Jessica said.

"But it's Mike's Midnight Machinations Madness video game sale. I can get The Re-Re-Re-Bloodening 1-5 for 50 credits."

"Well, I'm not gonna stop you. You'd probably just hypnotize me into letting you go. But be careful. You do remember some of the Kui Dwang Dragon Fist Style I taught you?"

"Yes, I do. I don't think my ribs will ever let me forget that kick you did while training me," Jake said as he turned and left.



An hour later he left the video store with his purchase and began walking home. Then he saw through an alley Mina leading a big group of Dark Edens though the abandoned streets. He walked down the alley and crouched behind a dumpster just as they stopped. Mina was holding the book they had taken from the library. She then announced, "My fellow Dark Edens, tonight we stop with the usual crimes and such. Tonight we throw Yoto City into chaos section by section and then tear it apart." The others cheered as she opened the book to a page she had earmarked.

Jake, meanwhile, activated the PAT suit and changed into Captain Anime and began to run towards the other side of the alley towards them.

Mina raise her hand and chanted, "Todo mecaniza arre't!" A blue ball appeared over her head that soon exploded into a huge shock wave causing all electronic devices to fail in a 20 block radius.

As Jake was just about exit the alley, Homeshield announced, "Warning! Magic EMP approaching. Shut down imminent." And so the PAT suit retracted just as Jake emerged from the alley and stopped right in front of the 2 dozen Dark Edens.

"Er, um, hi," Jake said.

"Get him," Mina ordered.

"Wait....What the hell is that?!" Jake shouted and pointed in a random direction before running like his life depended on it…which it most likely did.

The technique worked and they all looked, but Mina saw there was nothing there and turned her attention to the escaping Jake. "He didn't see anything. Get him."

"How do you know that?" a random DE said.

"Let's just get him. Forget these idiots," a dark haired, blue eyed, hoodie covered, ragged jeans sporting, rose trident necklace wearing Yuta, emerging from the group, said to Mina.

They soon ran after Jake, but had trouble catching up due to his head start, but Mina soon remedied that. "Body congelo!" she incanted and froze Jake in his tracks. They soon caught up to the frozen Jake.

"Hi, Mina. How nice of you to freeze me in my tracks and then potentially beat me to a pulp. And who is that with you?" Jake said.

"Don't you recognize me, Jake? I got new hair and new eyes," Yuta said.

"Yuta?"

"Correct. Now check out my new spirals," she said as her eyes changed to blue spirals and looked Jake in the eyes.

"No, please, stop. No," Jake said. He was defenseless. The freeze spell made it so he couldn't look away. He couldn't even close his eyes. He desperately tried to activate his own hypnotic eye abilities, but it seemed in addition to freezing his ability to blink, his ability to have hypno-eyes was also frozen. The situation seemed so hopeless. Yuta's eyes were so blue and calming to him. Half his brain was screaming for him to resist, the other half was screaming for him to give in.

"Yes, Jake, let the spirals draw you in. Let them wash over your mind. Feel yourself give into my power. There is nothing else. There is only me and the spirals. Feel your mind shut down as you fall into deep hypnosis for me," Yuta said, her voice becoming more and more seductive as she gave the brief induction.

Due to Mina's freezing spell, Jake's eyes wouldn't close until it wore off, but his mind was asleep.

"Oh, and Jake. May your hypnotized dreams be filled with the worst nightmares imaginable," Yuta commanded as she and Mina picked up the frozen Jake as visions of a thong wearing, dancing Mato appeared in his head.



At the Mato house, Osaka was in her room eating a taco and listening to music and reminiscing about when she first became a Kai.

Many millennia ago, she had been a normal girl, until she had been killed by a soldier wearing armor and symbols from a land no one recognized. They had arrived in steam powered ships, which was unusual since everyone else at the time still used sailing power. As her spirit drifted towards the afterlife it was intercepted by one of the messengers of the Fates.

"I'm sorry, Osaka, but I can't let you into the after life.  Your spirit has been determined to have an usually high ability in hypnosis, so you are to become a Kai of hypnosis."

"But what if I don't want to go? I want to be with my family in the afterlife."

"I'm sorry, but you have no choice in the matter," he said, pulling her through the gates to the realm of the Kais.

Once inside the messenger held her hand and energy charged into it and her pocket watch appeared.

"What is this?"

"The fates believe it is the face of hypnosis in the coming years," he said. "Now, let's meet your fellow Kais of hypnosis."

She saw them sitting in a small village like setting unlike the shrine to stage hypnosis they occupied in the present. One was a female vampire, another was a young red head with spiral eyes, the third was a siren right out of Greek mythology.

"Girls, meet the newest one of you," the messenger said.

"Um, hi," Osaka said sheepishly.

"What's this crap?" the vampiress asked.

"Ya, she's a mortal. What's the big idea of letting her in here and becoming one of us?" the siren said.

"Hey, cut her some slack. Can't you see she's already uncomfortable with this situation?" the spiral eyed girl said. "Hi, I'm Celena. Nice to meet you."

Osaka smiled at Celena, and then the messenger made an announcement. "Okay, just got this in. Apparently, Atlantis has developed a new technology that augments their hypnosis skills. They're invading everywhere and making everyone their slaves. We would've caught this earlier, but the Kai that watches for world domination was fighting a bear for some weird reason for three months. So the Fates want you guys to go down and...."

"We know, steal their hypnosis abilities and give them a trial to see if they're worthy."

"Actually, the Fates want you to erase their knowledge of hypnosis, return the world to normal, erase Atlantis's complete history, and then wipe them off the map, but don't kill anyone when doing so."

"How is that possible?" Osaka asked.

"Just go!" the messenger shouted.

Their tasks were simple. The siren would entrance all Atlantians on the mainland to lead them back to the island nation as well as freeing the enslaved mainlanders from their control and making them forget about the soon to be none existent island nation. The vampiress would entrance all those in the main city while Celena deleted Atlantis's past. While Osaka would provide cover for Celena.

As they approached Atlantis, Osaka noticed the steam ships docked at the island's ports.

"Those are the weird ships of the men that killed me," Osaka said.

"Ya, they are rather technologically advanced, and very brutal. So when they aren't controlling people, they're killing them. I'm sorry you got the brutal end of the stick," Celena said.

After they landed in the city they made their way to the schools and the libraries, getting rid of Atlantis's past and knowledge of hypnosis.

Celena paused to read a passage in a book. "The new metallic alloy Atlantium is a dark blue color and helps augments hypnotic powers. Hmmm, wonder why they didn't give you a pocket watch made of this super metal?"

"I don't know. I kinda like this one anyways," Osaka said, beginning to feel at home in her role.

Their final target was the "writing wall", a massive wall in the Atlantian castle that Atlantis's history was constantly being written on. It was recording the Kais attack as it was happening. Celena disabled the writing walls writing apparatus and she began scrambling the writing.

After she had fumbled through an induction to entrance two palace guards that approached, Osaka asked, "Why are you scrambling their history? We were told to destroy it."

"I know. But I feel to destroy the history of a civilization completely is worse then killing off its entire population. Besides, I scrambled it so bad no one will figure out what it says in a million years."

After that task was done and the entranced Atlantian's from the mainland returned to the city Osaka, Celena and the other two kais floated above the city and encased it in a magic barrier.

"Now to wipe it off the face of the map while still letting them start over," the vampiress said.

"Okay guys, come on down," the siren shouted at the heavens.

Chad, the Kai of water, soon slammed down into the ocean followed by a dragon girl.

"Osaka, meet Chad the Kai of water and Li Ching, Kai of earth. Guys, this is Osaka," Celena said, doing the intros.

"Ribbit," Chad said.

"Okay, do your things," the vampiress said.

Chad's tongue flew out of his mouth and traced a circle around Atlantis in the water, causing the water to draw away from it for about a mile. Li Ching then did a weird hand motion that lowered the island to the bottom of the ocean where the water had been. Then the water started to flow back to its rightful position covering the island city, the magic seal keeping it safe for its citizens to start a new life. As the water covered the palace, Osaka noticed a design on the coat of arms on one of the towers. A rose wrapped around a trident.



Upon remembering this, Osaka in the present did a spit take with the taco in her mouth.

"Million years my ass!!" she shouted.



Chapter VI Coming Back to Haunt You


Jake woke up and looked around. He recognized his surroundings as the unknown ruins outside town, but didn't know why he was here or why he wasn't a mindless slave to Yuta.

"Oh you're up," a voice behind him said.

He turned around and saw Washina standing there.
"You!!" Jake shouted. "You're the cause of all this misery, aren't you?"

"Guilty as charged," she said smugly.

"I'll make you pay!! Normally it's against my policy to hit a girl, but I'll make an exception for you!" he said, charging at her. However, when he got within an arm's distance of her, he suddenly doubled over in pain and clutched his stomach.

"Ah, I see you're familiar with Yuta's post-hypnotic suggestion. If you try to attack me your body will instantly feel like it's in intense pain. Same if you try any of your little hypnosis tricks," Washina said.

"I get the idea," Jake said, struggling to his feet. "So, why are we having this pleasant conversation instead of me having an extreme makeover like everyone else you've corrupted?"

"Because I've heard of your little hypnosis abilities. You also seem to have a strong mind. Who knows what annoyances you could cause if somewhere down the line you break free of my control. I've decided to get rid of you. I'm going to hurt you, and I'm going continue to hurt you."

"What about Yuta? She's got hypnosis powers that could jeopardize your plans. Why is she sporting the goth girl wanna be look?" he asked.

"Three reasons. First, her mind isn't nearly as resistant as yours, so I feel there's no way for her to break free of my control. Second, because of reason one, I can make her use her hypnosis abilities to make my job a whole lot easier. Third, she's hot."

At that Jake's mind froze. ".......Wow.....That was unexpected," he said, trying to keep images of evil Yuta and Washina out of his head. ".....So, er, um. Besides being, um, fascinated by Yuta, what's your deal with all the mind control and turning people evil?"

"Because as the princess of Atlantis, it is my special assignment," Washina said answering him.

"Atlantis? Princess?"

"Oh, that's right, no one up here has heard of us. I've looked through your history, and it seems we've been erased from it," she said.

"Uh, actually, I have heard of you," Jake said, confusing his world's Atlantis for this ones.

"Heh, that's a first. As I was saying, it seems that in the past we Atlantians were in the process of dominating you overlanders, until one day the Gods themselves came down and pacified us, scrambled the history of our race, and sent us to the bottom of the sea.  Well, apparently they thought that they had scrambled our history better than they actually had, since we unscrambled it less then 50 years ago, and learned of our cities intent on enslaving the rest of the world, as you are inferior to us."

"Hey, wait, I take that as an offense since I'm not....oh, wait, never mind, continue," Jake said catching himself from blurting he wasn't from this world.

"As I was saying," she continued, "we immediately went back to learning the art of hypnosis as our ancestors had and began working on how to penetrate the magic seal and return to the surface and control you all once again as it is our destiny. Unfortunately, we found out how to break the seal first before we could transport ourselves to the surface, but then luck came our way when an overlander came upon us in a submersible.  Our research team wanted to capture the vessel and study it, so they disabled it when it got within inches of the barrier.  Though by disabling it they nearly destroyed it, but it set our research ahead by decades, and the overlander Hanzoo we captured told us much of the changes in the overworld over the years after we hypnotized him."

"Was that Dr. Hanzoo?" Jake asked.

"Yes, he insisted we call him by that title until we took control of him."

"You ruined his documentary by shooting him down," Jake said, remembering the video tape that Mina had brought home earlier. It had obviously floated to the surface from the nearly destroyed sub, been recovered, and ended up in the video store.

"Stop interrupting. Do you treat all princesses like this?"

"No. But then again, the only other princess I know of is scarily obsessed with me and not evil ones," Jake said.

Washina continued. "After all their hard work, they created a one person submarine to transport one of us to the surface. The plan was to corrupt the minds of your youth to rebel against the elders, stretching your resources to the limit, making the final take over a snap once we could finally transport a large force to come to the surface and initiate the final take over. I volunteered since I had had hypnosis training since I was a child, and who would say no to the princess? So I got to the surface, started the youth corruption in the form of the Dark Eden Gang, and here we are, you and me, chatting away," she said finishing up her speech.

"Oooh. Oooh. I have some questions," Jake said raising his hand and shaking it like an over excited student in class.

"Very well."

"Why Dark Eden?"

"Because your world is so bright and like a paradise. But once we start to take over it will be a dark time for you overlanders."

"Okay, next question. Why the do the girls you control get the dark hair dye job and not the guys?" he asked.

"Because black is sexy...and I don't like men," she said.

"Okay… so you're an evil lesbian princess," Jake said, momentarily updating his earlier description of Washina, "Okay, final question. Now that you've revealed your whole convoluted history and plan, are you going to place me in an easily escapable situation involving an overly elaborate and exotic death?"

"No," she said snapping her fingers, signaling Yuta, Diana, and Mina to come out of the ruins behind her. "These three lovely ladies are gonna dispose of you in a long, drawn out process that I'm going to stick around for and enjoy."

"Do you know how many Evil Overlord Rules you're breaking?" Jake said.

"My civilization has been at the bottom of the ocean for millennia. We're kinda out of the loop," she said.

The four girls surrounded him as he looked at them in horror.

"I think the sexy magic girl can go first. So have fun with him, Mina," Washina said.

"Thank you, Mistress," Mina said, pulling out the forbidden spells book and thumbing through it. "Jake, are you allergic to Cesium?"

"No."

"Hmmm, can't use that spell. What about thousands of cactus needles being driven into your skin? Are you allergic that?"

"No!!!!" Jake said, excitedly thinking he saw a loophole in getting out of being hurt really bad.

"Oh....Well, I'll use it anyway," Mina said with an evil grin.

Seeing no way out, he tried a tried and true method. "What the hell is that!?" he shouted, looking and pointing a random direction....and to his surprise something that warranted this expression was actually there on top of one of the ruin's walls. It stepped off the wall and approached them, and once it entered the sun it was revealed to be Osaka.

"Osaka!" Jake said, happy to see her for once.

"Geez, leave it someone from Atlantis to have a hideout in the third most common evil person hideout. Do you have any idea how many warehouses and laboratories I had to search before I finally came here?" she said.

"Who are you? And how did you know where I was from?" Washina asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm one of the ones who sent your whole civilization to the bottom of the sea and helped throw its records of the past into chaos. I hope you don't have any ill will towards me," Osaka said smiling.

"Destroy her," Washina ordered the girls. They charged at Osaka, who knocked them all out in one blow each.

"You didn't hurt them, did you?" Jake asked.

"No. Now then, since this is technically still Kai of hypnosis business, I would ask you to leave, Jake, but I think you deserve some revenge. So you handle the green haired monster here and I'll fix the minds of all those kids she took control of."
"Uh, I'm post hypnotically suggested to be unable to hurt her."

"You'll figure it out," Osaka called over her shoulder as she ran into the ruins.

Jake looked at Washina and gulped.

"How about instead of revenge I just send your mind to a very very dark place," Washina said reaching into her hoodie pocket and pulling out her blue pocket watch.

"How about you and I just fight it out. You say your superior to us overlanders. So why not prove it in battle?"

"Okay," Washina said putting the watch back in its place. "Yuta gave me the trigger word should I ever want to remove the post-hypnotic suggestion. Play time."

"Thanks...I think. Now then shall we begin," he said getting into a stance. "Kui Dwang Dragon Fist style."

Washina then got into a weird fighting stance herself. "Shewhen Dau Shark Fin style." she said.

'Crap, Jessica teaches me a fighting style to defend against all known fighting styles, and the first time I use it I go against an unknown one,' Jake thought.

Washina launched into a spinning kick which Jake blocked by bringing both arms together over his face, but the blow still knocked him to the ground.

"You're stronger then you look," he said getting up. He launched a karate chop at the side of her head, but she grabbed his hand and twisted it before poking his shoulder hard with two her fingers. While the blow didn't seem like much it suddenly felt like electricity was flowing through his body. "AAAAAA, What hell was that!!?"

"Two fingered electric eel strike."

"Cute, but try this. Pythagorean Perpendicular Jump Kick!" Jake declared, jumping over her and kicking her in the back of head, sending her sprawling forward. He charged at her again.

"Clamshell catapult kick!" she declared, dropping down and using her hands pushing on the ground to give her leverage to drive both her feet into Jake's stomach. He stumbled backwards, coughing.

"Flaming dragon kidney punch," he shouted, punching her in the side as she got back up. Before she could recover he kicked her in the stomach a few times before head butting her. She staggered for a bit and then Jake went up to her. "I'm gonna slapped some sense into you!" he said, slapping her across the face several times. She broke away and ran towards him pretending to go punch him in the face. As Jake put up his guard, she stopped the punch and kicked him in the groin.

"Oooooooooh....right in the little Jakes," he said in a high pitched voice as he fell to the ground. She walked over to kick him while he was down, but as she raised her foot he grabbed it and pulled forward on it, causing her to lose her balance and fall down too. As they both lied there catching their breath, Jake thought, I wonder what Mato's score card down in the lab would read after this?

They both got to their feet.  Washina pulled off the headband she was wearing.

"Oh crap. This Shark Fin style isn't one of those martial art styles where you can kill someone with an everyday object 5 times before they hit the ground?"

"Nope," she said pulling the headband apart so that it was no longer connected. It suddenly went rigid and lengthened into a bo staff.

"That would be so cool if it wasn't gonna be used to hurt me," Jake said. "Hey, wait. You're not fighting fair."

"We never laid any ground rules down when we started," she said with an evil grin. She charged at him swinging the bo staff around. Jake was barely able to dodge it as she swung it wildly. She then thrust it forward and caught him in the stomach.

Oh god, it's like the dough boy stomach tickle of death,he thought, coughing.

She then used the staff to trip his legs out from under him and raised it over her head to smack him while he was down when....an anvil fell out of the sky and hit her on the head, knocking her out.



In the Mato Lab, Mato was celebrating. "The MatoMatterTransfer System 5.0 works. I am indeed a genius. Now I wonder where I sent that anvil to?"



Back at the ruins, Jake looked at his unconscious foe, and then at the anvil.

"Thank you, Deus Ex Machina Anvil," he said with a sigh of relief. He then looked over and saw Mina, Yuta, and Diana standing up after they had been knocked out by Osaka.

"Great, she goes, and dehypnotizes everyone else but them," Jake said.

The girls looked at Jake and then at Washina and then back to Jake and gave him the angriest look he had ever seen.

"Hey, it's not what you think. I mean, I did beat the crap out of her, but I had nothing to do with the anvil...wait, that didn't come out right."

"You will pay for this," Diana said.

"Hey girls, check this out!" said a voice from behind. They turned around and found themselves face to face with Osaka and her pocket watch.

Thirty minutes later the girls were back to normal, and Jake explained the whole sad story to them.

"We did what?!?!?!" they said in unison.

"Ya, sorry," Jake said.

"Oh Jake, I'm so sorry," Mina said.

"I'm sorry too," Diana said.

"Can you ever forgive me for nightmares of grandpa, Jake?" Yuta said.

"I could never be mad at you guys for something someone made you do against your will," Jake said.

"Is that her?" Mina asked, pointing at the unconscious Washina. Jake had tied the sleeves of her hoodie behind her back and used the string from the hood to tie her legs together.

"Ya," Jake said. "What did you do with the other Dark Edeners?" he asked Osaka.

"I had them think they were kidnapped for a test screening of the new Star Katana movie and claim their evil twins caused all the havoc. I suggest you girls claim the same to your parents and teachers."

"Can do," Diana said.

"Are you sure the world at large will believe that?" Jake said.

"They believe Mato is a genius and not a crazy, perverted, hypnosis using madman."

"Touche,'" Jake said.

At that time, Washina had begun to wake up. "Hey, untie me."

"I'm sorry, I can't do that, Princess." Jake said. "Your empire of evil is at an end."

"Ya, Princess Monkey Wrench," Osaka said.

"What did you just call me?" Washina said.

"Ya, what did you just call her?" Jake said.

"I called her what exactly she's gonna be. A monkey wrench in Atlantis' world domination scheme."

"I most certainly will not be a tool for you to use," Washina said.

"I beg to differ," Osaka said as she began to swing her pocket watch in front of Washina's eyes. "Look at me, and look at the watch. Relax. Relax, and grow sleepy. See the watch slowly spinning and sparkling in the light, hear my voice guiding you deeper and deeper into trance, deeper and deeper into hypnosis. I am going to count down from 10 to one. When I reach one, you will find that you are within my hypnotic power. 10..listen and relax...9..going deeper....8...falling..7...slipping into trance..6..letting my voice intoxicate you...5..your eyes are getting very, very heavy...4... coming under my power...3 deeply.... 2 deeply....1 - hypnotized. Washina, I want you to listen to me very closely. My voice is inside your head. My words are your thoughts. You will obey all of my commands without hesitation. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Mistress Osaka," the hypnotized Washina said.

"Yaaaaa!! Way to turn the tables Osaka. You da man....er, the wo-man," Jake said.
"Now then, Washina, since I'm too lazy to do it myself, you are to go back to Atlantis and hypnotize your fellow people to no longer want to invade the mainland but to enjoy their stay on the ocean floor and want to stay there."

"Of course, mistress," Washina said.

After Washina continued to stand there entranced for a few minutes Osaka got agitated. "I meant right now, not after breakfast, not after Super Sentai. Now!" With that Washina ran off.

"Good riddance to royal rubbish," Mina said.

"Come on guys, let's go home," Jake said.



In the end the movie test screening kidnapping/evil twin cover story convinced everyone it wasn't their kids that had actually caused all the chaos, especially since word was spread by the ever 'trustworthy' Mato News Network. Washina brainwashed her own people as Osaka had commanded, and the Mato house held a taco party for Osaka for saving the day....which was ultimately ruined when Katia and Yuta started a fight when they asked Jake simultaneously who he thought looked cuter in their sombreros.
